Grilled Teriyaki Salmon Steaks Recipe

I love to serve these mouth watering salmon steaks with some warm sweet sticky rice and some chargrilled or wilted asian greens such as pak choy.

  • 4 large salmon steaks or a large fillet cut into 4 portions, and pin bones removed
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet sherry
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
  • oil

Peel the garlic cloves and crush into a small bowl or jug. Add the fresh minced ginger, brown sugar, sweet sherry and soy sauce. Stir to combine and brush over salmon steaks. Set aside for 5 to 10 minutes. Place steaks on hot oiled grill or barbeque for 3 minutes each side, or until almost cooked through - the golden rule here is NOT to over cook.
